How to Wear Ladies Perfume
The skin of each person is always changing. Weather conditions, individual mood, diet and medications, and even such things as the environment and cigarette smoking will alter how the skin reacts. This is the reason that stress can often lead to “breakouts”, but it also makes perfume smell stronger too. This is because someone under stress is going to have a slightly elevated body temperature and may even perspire which translates to an increase in the intensity of their ladies perfume. Unfortunately, if someone is perspiring heavily, they may completely eliminate the presence of the perfume on their skin altogether, and a re-application will be required.
While body chemistry has an effect on the smell of ladies perfume, the condition of the skin also has an effect too. Dry skin cannot properly absorb a perfume well enough to allow it to remain long on the skin. This is the reason that applying fragrance to recently moisturized skin delivers the best results. If this is impossible, ladies perfume should be re-applied at intervals throughout the day or night to remain detectable. There are few high-quality ladies perfume formulations that can last an entire day, and a four hour lifespan is really the best that can be expected.
Although movies and TV show women dotting ladies perfume on their wrists or just behind their ears, the best applications occur all over the body. There are several vital areas where body heat can often cause the scent to rise and become far more noticeable. The backs of the knees, crooks of the arms, base of the throat and between the breasts are ideal areas for perfume as well as behind the lobes and on the wrists too.
One good trick for making perfume really adhere to the skin and last a great deal longer is to apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the areas where ladies perfume is usually applied (this works really well just out of a hot shower). After rubbing the jelly on well, the perfume can be applied on top of this and it will tend to last a great deal longer.
It is interesting to note that many women apply their ladies perfume to their hair or clothing, but this is never a good idea. Shampoos and hair care products will quickly mask the true fragrance of the perfume, and the same can be said of the detergents used to launder clothing.
Instead of applying ladies perfume in this somewhat wasteful fashion, it is a better idea to add a few drops to the basin in which delicate undergarments are soaking as this will instantly scent the water which will then dry on the garments without any damage.
